The Mission of Mississippi Action for Community Education, Inc. is to empower African Americans, poor and disadvantaged citizens within its service area by developing their individual and collective capacities to effect social and economic change and improvements within their lives and communities. Believing that leadership development is the foundation on which all other development takes place, MACE seeks to develop leaders at all levels of society and the institutions through which these leaders can effectively represent and serve their constituencies. MACE
pursues its mission by using a holistic approach
to community development that serves as a catalyst for change in
helping people
help themselves; as well as, establishing and maintaining viable
linkages with
its affiliates, other organizations and individuals with similar
interests and
goals.
